 BARNETT HURRICANE RELIEF SERVICES OUTLINED
 MIAMI, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Barnett's Hurricane Andrew relief

services have been expanded to include:
EMERGENCY BANKS -- Five special emergency banks are open in the hardest-hit areas of Perrine, Cutler Ridge, Florida City, Richmond Heights and Naranja Lakes in South Dade County. These facilities provide basic check-cashing service for the general public and were opened at the request of Gov. Lawton Chiles. Two locations will change Wednesday -- in order to put them in the areas of highest need -- Kendall Home Center emergency bank moves to Perrine Elementary School, 8851 SW 168th Street; Homestead emergency bank moves to Modello Baptist Church, 15300 SW 288th Street, Naranja Lakes.
ATMs -- ATMs may be used without charge. A mobile ATM machine (installed is a specially equipped van) will visit high-need sites throughout the Labor Day weekend.
OPEN OFFICES -- All of Barnett's 42 Dade County full-service offices except one (Ocean Reef) are expected to be open by Friday, less than two weeks since the hurricane. Currently, 34 offices are operating.
DISASTER LOANS -- Barnett has committed $1 billion in relief loans of all types -- credit card, credit line, installment, mortgage and commercial. Hundreds of customers have called the Barnett Hurricane HelpLine at 800-358-0952 for loans and general information. Barnett's mortgage information line is 800-441-7152. Both tollfree lines operate from 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m., seven days a week.
PAYMENT EXTENSIONS -- All monthly payment loans in good standing may qualify for 60-day extensions.
INSURANCE CHECKS -- Immediate credit is being provided up to $5,000 on insurance checks and for the full amount on government-issued Federal Emergency Management Agency checks. Barnett expects to handle a heavy volume of FEMA checks over the next few days.
SAFE DEPOSIT BOXES -- Free safe deposit boxes are being provided on a first-come, first-served basis for three months.
FREE PHOTOCOPYING -- All offices will provide free photocopying of insurance claim documents.
