BANNAN'S VILLA THRILLER; Deal is 'icing on cake' says ace.
BARRY Bannan admitted he would probably ''sign his life away'' at Villa, such was his delight at penning a new threeyear contract at the club.
The midfield maestro topped off a fine week by agreeing a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2014.
Bannan said the new terms were the ''icing on the cake'' of what has turned out to be an incredible few weeks for the 20-year-old.
As well as starting in the last three Premier League games for Villa, the youngster made his Scotland international debut during the 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.
"For me to get a new contract is brilliant," said Bannan, who is expected to start in tomorrow's game at Blackburn.
"I'd sign my life away probably here the way it's going at the moment. It's fantastic.
"I could never have imagined it going so well for me."
Bannan becomes the second player in a week to commit his long-term future to the club after Gabby Agbonlahor extended his contract until 2015.
He also follows hot on the heels of fellow youngsters Ciaran Clark and Marc Albrighton, who recently penned new deals.
"The new gaffer has come in and really taken to me. I've had chances and I've taken them," added Bannan.
"It's all come around so quickly, I haven't really had a chance to think about it. It's just been an unbelievable start.
"I am over the moon to be at the club - it's one of the biggest in the country."
