BANKERS TRUST $100 MIL. 7.5 PERCENT CONV CAP SEC RATED 'AA-' BY FITCH -- FITCH FINANCIAL WIRE --

 NEW YORK, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Bankers Trust New York Corp.'s (NYSE: BT) newly issued $100 million of 7.5 percent convertible capital securities, due Aug. 15, 2033, are rated "AA-" by Fitch. The issue is subordinated to the corporation's senior debt. The credit trend is stable.
 The rating reflects Bankers Trust's continuing strength in earnings and profitability, substantial liquidity, strong reserve coverage of nonperforming loans, and meaningful improvement in risk adjusted capital ratios.
 At the option of Bankers Trust, the coupon on this debt issue may be reduced by 1.5 percent. If the option is exercised, the debt holder may convert the notes into cumulative preferred stock of Bankers Trust New York Corp. which would carry an annual dividend rate of 7.5 percent. Fitch's rates the preferred stock of Bankers Trust "A+."
