BANK SOUTH ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS

 ATLANTA, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank South Corporation (NASDAQ: BKSO) announced the following promotions today:
 Blake Crews was promoted to senior vice president. He is the system financial officer for the Consumer, Investment and Trust Bank.
 Crews began his career at Bank South in 1983 as the manager of Financial Reporting. In less than one year, he was promoted to project accounting manager. In 1989, he was promoted to manager of Planning and Analysis.
 Crews earned his B.A. in accounting from Duke University in 1981 and his M.B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1987. He is an instructor for the American Institute of Banking and a volunteer accountant for Actor's Express.
 Harold H. Hobgood was promoted to senior vice president. He is the manager of the South Region.
 Hobgood began his career at Bank South as a management associate in 1962. After he graduated from the Management Associate program, Hobgood was employed by the Retail Banking Group as an assistant branch manager and was subsequently promoted to branch manager. In 1980, Hobgood was promoted to regional manager in the Retail Banking Group. After working as credit coordinator in the Credit Department and senior credit officer for Clayton County, Hobgood was promoted to manager of South Fulton/Clayton Region in 1989.
 Hobgood received his B.S. from Georgia Tech in 1961 and graduated from the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University in 1972. He participated in the Membership Drives for the Atlanta, Clayton and South Fulton Chambers of Commerce. Hobgood also serves on the board of trustees at Christian City and is an active member of Robert Morris Associates and the East Point Rotary Club.
 Hobgood lives in East Point, Ga., with his wife, Weida, and their daughter, Lisa.
 Sally Ann McNulty was promoted to senior vice president. She is the chief accountant and manager of Corporate Accounting.
 McNulty began her career at Bank South in 1983 as an accountant in the Corporate Accounting area. In 1986, she was promoted to assistant vice president and manager of Corporate Accounting.
 McNulty received her B.B.A. from Saint Mary's College in 1982 and is the former Georgia Club president of the St. Mary's College Alumnae Club. Currently, she is on the board of directors of Catholic Social Services where she is the co-chair of the Development Committee.
 She lives in Roswell, Ga., with her husband, Thomas, and son, William Thomas.
 Monica M. Benning was promoted to senior vice president. She is the manager of the North Fulton Region.
 Benning began her career at Bank South as a management associate in 1982. After she graduated from the Management Associate program. Benning was employed in the Credit Department as a credit officer and analyst. In 1986 she was promoted to manager of the Credit Department. In 1989 Benning was promoted to director of Corporate Planning.
 Benning received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 and her M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1989. She is an education advisory council member of the American Institute of Banking and is active as a volunteer consultant for several non-profit organizations in the Atlanta area.
 Benning lives in Atlanta with her husband, Bill, and her son, Mac.
 William L. Daniel was promoted to senior vice president. He is the manager of the East Metro Region.
 Daniel began his career at Bank South in 1988 as the president of Rockdale County Retail Group. He became the manager of the East Metro Region in January 1992. The East Metro Region encompasses the branch banking offices in DeKalb, as well as Rockdale County. Prior to joining Bank South, Daniel was the president, CEO and a founding director of Enterprise National Bank in Atlanta. He also held various management positions during his 15-year tenure at C&S National Bank.
 Daniel received his B.B.A. degree in management from Georgia State University in 1971. He is a board member of the Rockdale Hospital Authority, serves as president of the Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts, and is a director and chair of the Existing Industry Committee for the Conyers Rockdale Chamber of Commerce.
 F. David Semino was promoted to senior vice president. Semino is the manager of Dealer Financial Services.
 Semino began his career at Bank South in 1986 as the manager of Sales Finance. Prior to his employment at Bank South, he was with Bankers Trust of South Carolina where he earned 15 years of banking experience. Then Semino joined D&D Leasing Company in Columbia, S.C., as leasing manager.
 Semino attended the University of Virginia Graduate School of Retail Bank Management and the University of Oklahoma National Installment Credit School.
 He resides in Atlanta with his wife, Pennye, and his son, Richard.
 Joel C. Taylor Jr., was promoted to senior vice president. Taylor is the manager of the Northeast Region.
 Taylor began his career at Bank South in 1992 as the Northeast region manager. Prior to joining Bank South, he was employed by HomeTrust Bank as city vice president in Gwinnett County.
 Taylor attended Georgia State University, ABA Commercial Lending School and RMA Commercial Lending and Credit Analysis. He is a member of the Gwinnett County School Board for District 1, and is active in the Duluth Kiwanis Club and Leadership Gwinnett.
 Taylor lives in Lawrenceville, Ga., with his wife, Beverly.
 Peggy Stracke was promoted to senior vice president. Stracke is the manager of the Cobb Region.
 Stracke began her career at Bank South in 1989 as a region manager. Prior to joining Bank South, she was a branch manager with NationsBank.
 Stracke attended Kennesaw State College and is active in the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, the Women's Commerce Club, the National Association of Female Executives, Cobb Executive Women, and Leadership Cobb.
 Stracke lives in Roswell, Ga., with her husband, King, and their two daughters.
 Belinda Morgan was promoted to executive vice president and operations group head.
 Morgan began her career at Bank South in 1965 in the Retail Group. After serving as a supervisor in the Loan Department and a troubleshooter for the Retail Group. Morgan was promoted to assistant branch manager for the Atlanta Main office. In 1977, Morgan was promoted to division manager of Corporate Services, and was named manager of Product Development and Programming in 1987. Morgan most recently served as manager of the Account Servicing Division.
 Morgan attended the BAI School for Bank Administration through the University of Wisconsin. She is an active volunteer for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and the Atlanta Arts Festival.
