BANK OF CALIFORNIA ROLLS OUTS DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAM FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CLIENTS AFFECTED BY FIRES

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bank of California said its Disaster Relief Program was activated today to provide special financial assistance to clients affected by the Southern California fires, and that an announcement will be made next week regarding a contribution for disaster relief.
Deferrals and permission to skip payments for up to four months on home mortgages, unsecured installment loans and commercial lines of credit will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Clients will be permitted to draw against the unused portions of their unsecured lines of credit up to the available limit without making principal payments for a period of three months; only interest payments will be due. On secured lines, interest-repayment schedules may be changed from a monthly to a quarterly basis without any increase in rates.
Credit-card customers in good standing may skip their next payment without incurring late charges. Emergency increases to their credit limits may be approved by calling 800-544-2920, toll-free.
Clients owning certificates of deposit, including individual retirement accounts, may make early withdrawals without incurring penalties incurred by the bank.
The bank said additional services, such as emergency replacements of ATM cards and checks, free safe-deposit boxes and access to the bank's telephone-banking service, are provided under its Disaster Relief Program. For additional information on these and other components of its program, contact The Bank of California branch office nearest you.
The Bank of California, N.A., was the first commercial bank incorporated in the West. With $7.8 billion in assets, it is the fifth- largest bank in the state, operating 46 banking offices in California, Washington and Oregon, and 11 international offices.
