 BALL CORPORATION ELECTS H.R. LOONEY GROUP VICE PRESIDENT
 MUNCIE, Ind., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- H. Ray Looney, president and chief executive officer of Ball-InCon Glass Packaging Corp., has been elected a group vice president of Ball Corporation (NYSE: BLL), of which Ball-InCon is a wholly owned subsidiary.
 Looney, who has served in his current capacity at Ball-InCon since the company was formed in 1987, will also be a member of Ball Corporation's management committee.
 The new Ball officer served from 1971 until 1987 with TBG, nv., a European-based industrial products and services company. Prior to his tenure at Ball-InCon he was responsible for TBG's engineered products strategic unit. Before joining TBG, Looney was employed at Trans World Airlines, and prior to that Hewlett-Packard Corporation. He earned an MBA at Columbia University and an AB in economics at Stanford University.
 Looney is chairman of the board of the Glass Packaging Institute, the glass container industry's trade association. He and his wife, Maryanne, are the parents of one son.
 Ball-InCon operates 12 glass container plants and a mould shop and employs approximately 5,000 people. It produces commercial glass containers and glass moulds, serving the food, juice, liquor, wine and cosmetic markets.
 Ball Corporation is a manufacturing company with principal interests in packaging products sold to customers in the food and beverage industries. The company also provides aerospace systems products, professional services and industrial products to government and commercial customers.
