 BAKER & MCKENZIE IN LOS ANGELES APPOINTS MARKETING DIRECTOR
 LOS ANGELES, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Los Angeles office of the international law firm, Baker & McKenzie, has announced the appointment of Nancy Suey Castles as director of marketing.
 Castles will be responsible for marketing the office's capabilities to international and California businesses with emphasis on the office's strengths in its growing international trade areas.
 According to James J. Slaby, Jr., the office's managing partner, "The new marketing position allows our office to focus on developing opportunities in our international trade practices which continue into their fourth year of growth. These areas include international mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures; contracts; tax; litigation; immigration; employment; finance; environmental; governmental affairs; and intellectual property."
 Slaby added that the new position "will also facilitate the exchange of business between our Los Angeles office and the other 48 offices in the Baker & McKenzie worldwide network."

 Biodata on Suey Castles
 Suey Castles is former director of communications and special events at the Greater Los Angeles World Trade Center Association. Previously, she was manager of corporate information services for Rockwell International, and held marketing communications positions with The Garrett Corp. and Corning Glass Works. She has served overseas as a foreign service officer with the U.S. Information Agency.
 Suey Castles holds a master's in business administration in marketing from Syracuse University, and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of California at Los Angeles. She also has earned professional certificates in public relations and international trade from UCLA, and has received a number of local and national awards in marketing communications.
 She is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and is a member of the National Law Firm Marketing Association.
