C4 boss: "We need some titillation in the weekend schedule to boost the ratings."

Lackey: "How about showing some old clips from the 70s? Benny Hill, etc."

C4 boss: "Good idea. But we'll need some pundits to point out how shocking it all was."

Lackey: "I'll have a look on Twitter. There are loads of self-righteous twonks on there who like to moan about this sort of stuff, even though the telly is just as bad these days - if not worse."

C4 boss: "Excellent. Don't mention that bit about the telly being just as bad these days though, eh."

Now, I'm not saying this is exactly how C4's It Was Alright In The 1970s came about on Saturday night, but
