Springfield senior wins monthly arts honor

Brandon Hudson, a senior at Springfield High School, has been named the Performing Arts Student of the Month for April by the Support Hultcenter Operations organization.

Hudson is a actor, director, singer and musician. He directed "Down to Earth" and performed in "Othello," "The Diary of Anne Frank," "The Boy Friend," "Honk!" "The Tempest," "Crimes of the Heart" and "Kiss Me Kate." He sings in Kaleidoscope, a barbershop quarter, and the Concert Chorale, as well as playing the trumpet.

SHO makes the monthly award to recognize and encourage participation in music, drama and dance in Lane County high schools.

HomeSource senior makes Eagle Scout

Matthew Nasholm, a member of Troop No. 66 in Eugene was honored at an Eagle Court of Honor April 8 at the North Eugene Faith Center. Eagle Scout is the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts.

Nasholm, a senior at HomeSource, is the son of Mark and Joanie Nasholm. He earned 21 merit badges and received leadership training and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. His service project was completed for Santa Clara Water Board. The project required 22 hours and four helpers.
