BABST, CALLAND, CLEMENTS & ZOMNIR, P.C. HOSTS ENVIRONMENTAL FORUM
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Babst, Calland, Clements & Zomnir, P.C. (BCC&Z) will host the first annual BCC&Z Environmental Forum Tuesday, Nov. 10, through Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Vista Hotel, Pittsburgh.
"Our goal is to give a comprehensive update on the rapidly changing and expanding developments in the environmental regulatory programs," said Dean A. Calland, a founding partner of BCC&Z. "During the forum, we will utilize a combination of regulatory updates, case law interpretations and workshop analyses to ensure that this goal is met."
Other organizations participating in the forum include the Center for Hazardous Material Research, Coopers & Lybrand, Earth Sciences Consultants, Inc., ICF Kaiser Engineers, Inc., the National Environmental Technology Applications Corporation and the Pennsylvania Technology Council.
"Because the forum is the first of its kind in the Pittsburgh area, we felt it was important to bring together a diverse group of professionals to discuss how these ever-changing environmental regulations affect business operations today and in the future," added Calland.
A key component of the forum is the presentation of three concurrent Remedial Action Workshops addressing corporate/commercial, litigation and regulatory strategies.
"We will utilize actual case studies and discussions with a variety of legal and technical professionals to ensure that those attending have a better understanding of compliance and remediation strategies," said Frank J. Clements, a founding partner of BCC&Z. "Hopefully this will enable them to address their organization's needs more effectively."
Speakers for this two-day program include BCC&Z attorneys, representatives from the cooperative organizations and EPA officials. Robert E. Greaves, EPA Region III, chief of the RCRA Enforcement/UST Branch and chairman of the Risk-Based Enforcement Initiative Taskforce, will be the lunchtime keynote speaker on Nov. 10.
A fee will be charged for the forum. This includes registration materials, a copy of the proceedings, a reception, two luncheons and daily morning and afternoon coffee breaks. Discounts are available for three or more people attending from the same company. For registration information please call BCC&Z Forum, MEMS at 412-836-6813.
