 B. KINGSLEY SCHUBERT, 27-YEAR VETERAN OF INTERNATIONAL INSURANCE,
 TO HEAD CIGNA WORLDWIDE OPERATIONS IN JAPAN
 PHILADELPHIA, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- B. Kingsley Schubert, 46, has been named president and legal representative of CIGNA (NYSE: CI) property-casualty and accident and health insurance operations in Japan.
 Schubert joins CIGNA after 19 years with the American International Group (AIG) companies.
 "We are very pleased to welcome Mr. Schubert to our organization," said Stewart H. Steffey Jr., senior vice president/Pacific Area, CIGNA Worldwide, Incorporated (CWW). "He brings with him demonstrated leadership skills, expertise in the local insurance market and a breadth of experience that will build on the strong base we've established in Japan.
 "Japan is our largest market outside of the United States and has great potential for us," he added. "This is a great match between the customer needs we've identified for the '90s and the capabilities Mr. Schubert brings to the organization to help us fill those needs."

 Schubert most recently was senior vice president of AIG's worldwide accident and health division, based in New York. He also served as that firm's chief operating officer in Tokyo, with responsibility for both Japan and Korea. He began his career 27 years ago with the Royal Insurance Group in Adelaide, Australia.
