B'NAI B'RITH OFFERS UNIQUE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY WITH BANKERS TRUST

WASHINGTON, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- In these times of limited resources, B'nai B'rith is the first Jewish organization to turn to mutual funds as a creative form of money-making to support its programs and to help its supporters make wise investment choices, B'nai B'rith announced today.
"There is an enormous, sometimes confusing number of investment opportunities from which to choose. At the request of our members, we have established a mutual fund investment program and have done the homework of deciphering the vast array of investments available," said Kent E. Schiner, international president of B'nai B'rith.
B'nai B'rith considered several proposals before selecting Bankers Trust, a New York-based, global merchant bank and one of the largest institutional money managers in the United States to offer this program. Investors do not have to be members of B'nai B'rith to participate.
"During the past year B'nai B'rith has worked extensively to solidify a mutual fund program which responds directly to the investment needs and concerns of our constituency," Schiner said.
 Benefits to participants include:
-- Investors with as little as $5,000 have access to the
institutional money management expertise of Bankers Trust
(previously available only for large institutional investments or
 high-net private banking clients).
-- No commissions or sales fees will be charged.
-- Donations from Bankers Trust will provide additional revenues for
B'nai B'rith to help it support its community programs and social
 programs.
"These funds will help your pocketbook and B'nai B'rith at the same time," Schiner said.
Investors presently have a choice of five mutual funds:
-- The Leadership Tax Free Money Fund -- tax-exempt funds
-- The Intermediate Tax Free Bond Fund -- tax-exempt funds
-- The Leadership U.S. Treasury Money Fund -- invests in U.S.
 government securities
-- The Intermediate Tax Free Bond Fund -- invests in U.S. government
 securities
-- The Leadership Money Market Fund -- a general money market fund
In the future, a number of offshore and general asset funds will also be available.
Bankers Trust has established a 24-hour, toll-free telephone number, 800-665-1818, to answer questions about these mutual funds.
While B'nai B'rith is the first Jewish organization to offer this investment opportunity, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Lutheran Brotherhood have similar investment programs with other banks.
