Azerbaijan, Pakistan to expand economic cooperation.

Baku -- To strengthen bilateral relations, Azerbaijan and Pakistan can cooperate in energy and agricultural.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashkyn Shikarov made this statement during a Pakistan-Azerbaijan business forum in Islamabad, "The Nation" publication reported on Tuesday.

"Azerbaijan has huge oil and gas reserves, as well as experience in the energy sector. Pakistan has experience in agriculture and dairy production. Thus, the two countries could cooperate in these areas to further strengthen bilateral relations," Shikarov said.

As the head Chamber of Commerce of Islamabad, Zafar Bakhtavari said at the forum that Pakistan seeks to strengthen its cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially in the energy sector in order to overcome the negative impacts of the energy crisis on the Pakistani economy.

Regarding the opening of a direct air link between the two countries, Bakhtavari said that Pakistan appealed to Turkish Airlines to organize Baku-Dushanbe-Ashgabat flights, which will ensure direct air links between the four countries.
