Ayoze Perez insists "only good things can happen" for Newcastle United underRafa Benitez.
The Toon forward is loving life at St James' Park under the former Real Madrid manager and believes he can make him into an even better player.
Perez has been one of the mainstays in Benitez's line-up since the ex-Liverpool boss took over two years ago and hopes that his tenure continues.
Benitez is out of contract next year, but there are hopes in the dressing room that he will extend his stay.
Perez told the Chronicle: "Rafa has improvedNewcastle United.
"It's really competitive here even in training these days too.
"That's really good for the dressing room and it's been great since Rafa came here.
"Rafa has been really good for Newcastle United.
"There's still a lot of improvements we can make and under Rafa only good things can happen."

Newcastle will return home on Monday after a four-day stay in Spain and Perez says that the mid-season training camp has been a success.
He said: "It's a great idea.
"We could have had days off but that's not good at this stage of the season.
"There's six weeks to go so now every point is important.
"Being together in Spain is good and so is getting good sessions in and game."

Newcastle's next game against Huddersfield Town on March 31 could see the Magpies take a big stride towards safety.
Perez feels that a similar attitude and performance to the Southampton game will help see the club over the line.
He said: "We're always working on that and making sure people understand that's the way.
"Against Southampton was proof on what we are doing is right.
"Now we need to make sure we keep doing it right as much as we can.
"Then you will get solid performances."
