Ayers rocks rivals with second win.

UP and coming Pontyclun match angler Steve Ayers made it two wins in a row at Cefn Mably Lakes when he overcame a strong wind and snow flurries to catch 52lb 6oz of carp on waggler and pellets from peg 2.

Cardiff Nomads members Anthony O'Reilly and Mike Eyre followed with 46lb and 45lb 8oz.

Welsh coarse fishing international Lee Edwards, from Caerphilly, held off some strong competition from Midland anglers to win the Docklow Spring Festival at the Leominster fishery.

He collected two penalty points over the two days to tie with 20-year-old local star Sean Stewart; but thanks to a second day winning carp bag of more than 112lb he took the title and the pounds 300 first prize with an aggregate weight of 170lb 6oz to Stewart's 149lb 6oz.

The other South Wales angler in the prizes was Anthony Perkins, from Blackwood, in sixth place with four penalty points and an aggregate of 100lb 12oz.
