The Sirius system runs on Axtar's OneSwitch, a programmable switch claimed by the company to be the industry's first to combine a voice over IP gateway and a value-added services platform.
In addition to routing national and international calls through its tandem switching subsystem, the package also supports a range of value-added services such as pre-paid calling and number translation. Other features include a set of web-based graphical interfaces for the setting up and configuration of all the value-added services and an ability to impose real-time, multi-level credit limits on a carrier's customers.
