Axalta coating systems begins construction on dual refinish/powder training center.
Axalta Coating Systems has broken ground on a new facility for the training of coatings professionals. The 18,000-square-foot facility in Houston, Texas, is adjacent to the company's Houston powder coating manufacturing plant. Scheduled to open in summer 2015, the center will serve both refinish body shop customers and those who apply powder coatings for markets ranging from oil and gas pipelines to general industrial custom coating.
The center will offer customers instructor-led courses as well as opportunities to gain hands-on experience. According to Matt Robertson, Axalta's refinish collision business director, North America, the facility will incorporate the best practices that have already been established at other training centers, including current Axalta product technologies and audiovisual aids. "The Houston training center will represent another significant, long-term investment in our customers and in our industry," said Robertson.
Among the Axalta brands that training attendees will learn about are the company flagship liquid refinish brands Cromax[R], Standox[R], and Spies Hecker[R], and the powder products Nap-Gard[R] and Alesta[R].
We look forward to assisting our customers in advancing their skills and knowledge in an effort to help them to enhance their ability to increase shop productivity, safety, and quality," commented Gilles Georges, Axalta's powder coatings business director in North America. We are motivated every day to give them an exceptional Axalta experience."
