HUDDERSFIELD RUFC will kick off their 2017-18 season in National II North with a trip to South Leicester on Saturday, September 2. South Leicester finished seventh in the 16-strong division last season, so they will present a stern test for Gareth Lewis's newly-promoted National III North champions.
Field's first home game at Lockwood Park is the following Saturday, September 9, when Hinckley are the visitors to play under the railway viaduct.
It doesn't get any easier, either, later in the month as Tynedale, who finished sixth last season, host Lewis's men on September 16, while Otley are their hosts on the 30th.
That, of course, is a repeat of the Yorkshire Cup fixture from last season which Otley won 34-14 - the only team to defeat Field all season.
At Christmas, Huddersfield travel to Hinckley on December 23 and then they are not in action until after New Year, with Tynedale visiting Lockwood Park on Saturday, January 6.
By then, Field will be hoping to have established themselves solidly in the standings.
With fixtures taking the club to places like Blaydon and Stourbridge, there is plenty of travelling for the Lockwood Park side.
The season concludes on April 28, 2018, when South Leicester travel up to West Yorkshire.
