Awards event reminds him of Chase's contributions.

The winners of the Telegram & Gazette's Visions awards -- including the Isaiah Thomas Award -- who were recognized recently at Mechanic's Hall, are to be congratulated. They have all made outstanding contributions to society and Central Massachusetts should be proud to call them residents.

In seeing these awards, I couldn't help but be reminded of my dear, late friend, Arthur Chase. He was a man who it is difficult to sum up in a short space, but a few words come to mind: Patriotic, compassionate, humanitarian.

When Arthur started anything, he stayed on it until it was finished. As a businessman, an elected official, a volunteer for numerous organizations, he did his best at everything he did.

Arthur Chase's work will be remembered in Worcester, Worcester County, and Massachusetts
