Avnet Hall-Mark to Distribute EMC LEGATO Information Management Solutions; EMC LEGATO Software to Help Avnet Hall-Mark Grow Storage Opportunities in Mid-Market.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Avnet Hall-Mark, a value-added distributor of enterprise servers, storage, software and services, today announced it has entered into an agreement with EMC Corp. to distribute its complete EMC LEGATO information management solutions and services to the mid-market throughout North America. The addition of the EMC LEGATO portfolio rounds out the complete EMC offerings and allows for Avnet Hall-Mark and its resellers to leverage the broadest storage software portfolio in the industry.

"From our perspective, the EMC LEGATO software suite represents an excellent addition to Avnet Hall-Mark's information storage and management lineup," said Donnie Downs, president, Plan B Technologies Inc., an Avnet-Hall-Mark reseller. "In addition to helping us provide our customers with more comprehensive and integrated storage solutions, the inclusion of LEGATO to the breadth of Avnet's EMC offerings further simplifies our procurement process."

Through the addition of leading products such as EMC LEGATO NetWorker, EMC RepliStor, EMC AAM (Automated Availability Manager) and EMC EmailXtender, Avnet Hall-Mark can take advantage of additional opportunities in the mid-range market space.

"Combining the world-class EMC LEGATO software with our storage hardware lineup creates a great sales proposition that helps our resellers better address the needs of their markets," said Jeff Bawol, senior vice president and general manager of Avnet Hall-Mark's Enterprise Software and Storage (ESS) Business Unit. "By providing more complete information lifecycle management solutions, Avnet Hall-Mark can help shorten the sales cycle and increase the value we provide our partners."

The exceptional total cost of ownership (TCO) of EMC LEGATO software, combined with Avnet Hall-Mark's unique suite of assessment and demonstration tools provides a clear competitive advantage for resellers. These tools -- specifically Channel Connection, Networked Storage Advisor (NSA) and IT DemoCentral -- significantly reduce the sales cycle time for proposing and configuring these storage solutions.

"EMC's expanded relationship with Avnet Hall-Mark clearly demonstrates its commitment to working with channel partners and helping customers become more productive, minimize TCO and reduce risk," said Brian Brogan, vice president, Alliances and Partners, EMC Software Group. "Customers are looking for non-traditional protection and management products they can wrap around core products -- such as backup and recovery -- to truly leverage IT investments. Avnet Hall-Mark can differentiate itself by providing complete information management solutions from LEGATO to its VARs."
