Average salary in Kyrgyzstan was 15,400 som in 2017.
The average salary in Kyrgyzstan was 15,391 som in 2017 or by 6.7% more than average salary in 2016, Head of Labor and Employment Statistics Department Gulnara Jailobayeva told a press conference in Bishkek on February 13.
Taking into account the consumer price index, the growth in average salaries was 3.4%, she said.
Size of average salaries of Kyrgyztanis by regions:
Bishkek city - 20,900 som
Naryn region - 14,600 som
Jalal-Abad region - 14,152 som
Chui region - 14,000 som
Osh city - 13,100 som
Issyk-Kul region - 11,500 som
Talas region - 11,500 som
Batken region -10,800 som
Osh region - 10,600 som
"The highest growth were observed in Chui region - 9.1%, in Issyk-Kul region - 8.2% and in Bishkek - 7.9%," said Jailobayeva.
The highest paying occupations were financial field - 34,000 som, information and communication - 29,383 som, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - 29,000 som.
The lowest paying occupations were in the field of education - 11,400 som, health, art and culture.
Jaylobaieva added the salary of public sector employees was 12,100 som in average and off-budget sector employees - 21,100 som.
The subsistence minimum was 5,079 som in 2017.
The average salary of women was 12,183 som, while men earned 16,802 som in average.
