Avaya delivers unified messaging solution. (New Products).

Avaya Inc. has introduced a unified messaging solution that allows mobile workers to access voice messaging, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook functions such as e-mail, calendar and task list management, using conversational phrases from any phone. Avaya Speech Access for Unified Messenger was designed to go beyond providing traditional unified messaging access to e-mail, voice mail and fax messages, giving enterprises with growing mobile workforces extended access to critical communication tools using simple conversational phrases. Avaya Speech Access for Unified Messenger supports speech interaction with e-mail, calendars, meeting requests and tasks, allowing mobile workers to update and respond to information. With simple, spoken conversational phrases, mobile workers can place a phone call or set up a conference call with multiple parties during an ongoing conversation. Features offered through Avaya Speech Access for Unified Messenger allow users to list, read aloud, reply to and forward e-mail me ssages; list and schedule Microsoft Outlook calendar appointments and respond to meeting requests; access Microsoft Outlook contact information, including addresses; add new tasks and act on existing tasks in Microsoft Outlook; and add on additional parties to a continuing conference call. Avaya Speech Access is an add-on for Avaya Unified Messenger for Microsoft Exchange, a unified communication solution that provides single-mailbox access for e-mail, voice mail and fax messages from personal computers, touch-tone telephones, handheld devices or the Internet, regardless of how the messages were originally sent.
