Austrian interior ministry: 100 Austrians traveled to Syria to fight alongside terrorist groups.

Vienna, SANA --Austrian Interior Ministry revealed that some 100 Austrians traveled to Turkey to fight alongside the armed terrorist groups in northern Syria.

A report broadcast by the Austrian TV said that 8 Austrians were killed while fighting in Syria while 40 others returned and some of them were jailed on charges of taking part in terrorist operations and joining extremist camps.

Earlier, the Counter-Terrorism Office in Vienna revealed that over 100 Austrians from Turkish, Chechen and Bosnian origins were recruited and sent through Turkey to fight alongside the armed terrorist groups in Syria.
