Austrian Zumtobel invests EUR 4.5m in production facilities.

(ADPnews) - Jun 16, 2010 - Austrian lighting products maker Zumtobel (WBAG:ZAG) said today its subsidiary Zumtobel Lighting GmbH invested EUR 4.5 million (USD 5.5m) in its production site in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg.

In the past half year, some EUR 3 million was spent on tooling and around EUR 1.5 million on welding and injection moulding equipment. The new equipment is already in operation and is used for the production of Mellow Light V lighting units. The new model is almost 30% more efficient than the previous one, according to the company. The production of the old lighting units should be discontinued in the next few weeks, Zumtobel said.

In addition to the fluorescent lamp versions, Mellow Light V will also be produced in an LED version in Dornbirn and be launched in the autumn of 2010, the company said.
