Austrian Jan-Jul 2009 exports drop 24% y/y.

(ADPnews) - Oct 2, 2009 - Austrian exports plummeted 24% on the year in the seven months to July 2009, according to preliminary figures of Statistik Austria published on Friday.

The total value of exported goods during the period amounted to EUR 54.16 billion (USD 78.8bn).

The total value of imports summed up to EUR 56.05 billion, down 21.2% year-on-year.

The balance of visible trade showed a deficit of EUR 1.89 billion.

In July 2009, the exports fell by 20.1% on the year and the imports dropped by an annual 19.9%. The value of exported goods was EUR 8.39 billion and that of the imported products stood at EUR 8.42 billion.

The balance of visible trade showed an import surplus of EUR 30 million.
