Austrian A-Tec to build waste utilisation plant in Finland.

(ADPnews) - Nov 18, 2009 - AE&E, a unit of Austrian industrial holding company A-Tec Industries AG (WBAG:ATEC), has won a EUR 60 million (USD 89.6m) order for the construction of a waste utilisation plant in Vaasa, Finland.

The order, given by Westenergy OY, includes the steam generator as well as backup and supporting systems for the entire facility.

Construction works on the new plant will start by the end of this month. Heat supply will start in 2013. The plant will utilise 150,000 tonnes of municipal and industrial waste a year and will produce around 13 MW of electrical and 40 MW of heating energy, which will be enough to supply more than 30,000 households with power and heat.

There is also an option for the construction of another similar facility in the future.
