Austria : SALZBURG selects lead partner to manage complex transition to smart meters.

A global leader in digital services, Atos, has been chosen by Salzburg, one of Austria's main power and infrastructure service providers, as its lead partner for handling the complex transition of 470,000 power meters to smart meters and monitor the required infrastructure.

A global team made up of Atos and Atos Worldgrid consultants from four countries are now working on the transition.

Installation of the smart meters will take place by the end of 2019 in line with EU Directive 2020 and will serve all of the consumers in Salzburg.

The programme to adopt the smart metering system, at Salzburg, is comprised of a total of 17 individual projects, to which Atos and Atos Worldgrid experts from Italy, France, Germany and Austria will lend their experience and their know-how from the smart energy field in 13 projects to ensure a smooth transition.
