Australia reviews Kyoto Protocol targets.

Australia hopes to meet a greenhouse emissions level of just above its allocated target under the Kyoto Protocol, Environment Minister Ian Campbell said this week.

Campbell cited an annual government report that forecasts Australia's emissions will be 109% of 1990 levels by 2008-2012, just above its Kyoto target of 108%.

Australia is not a signatory to the Kyoto Protocol, but the government uses protocol target figures to show progress in emissions reductions.
