The Queensland University of Technology selected HASSELL, in conjunction with joint venture partner RKA, to design the next stage of the QUT Creative Industries Precinct located at Kelvin Grove.

The brief called for a series of dynamic, robust and sustainable buildings to accommodate rehearsal and performance spaces for dance, drama and music studios, galleries for visual arts and workshop spaces for set and production design. The new precinct will have a floor area of roughly 12,000 sqm and will cost upwards of $80 million to build.

QUT%s vision is that the building will foster collaboration and interaction between the various disciplines, allow a high degree of public exposure and provide natural light and ventilation throughout.
