Australia : New Exhibition Puts Best Of Victorian Fashion And Design On Display.
Melbournes credentials as Australias fashion and creative capital are now on show in a new exhibition celebrating some of Victorias most exciting fashion designers.
Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley today launched the Creative Collective, a free public exhibition that offers fashion media, buyers and the public an insight into outstanding local, independent fashion design.
Now in its second year, the Creative Collective, which is staged as part of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week (MSFW), features the work of more than 30 designers working across clothing, shoes, millinery and accessories including eyewear, scarves, fabric weaving and embroidery.
Reflecting the diversity of Victorias fashion and design sector, the exhibition also includes the work of a book artist, musician, photographer and fashion film maker.
The Creative Collective is a key event in the crowded program for MSFW, Victorias premier consumer fashion event. The Labor Government supports the exhibition as well as an Industry Program of workshops, forums and talks designed to enhance Victorian fashion and design businesses.
The Creative Collective exhibition is on show until 2 September at Melbourne Town Hall. Entry is free.
