Australia : Engineers repair Kingston burst.

ACTEW Water engineers have repaired a water main damaged by external contractors.

The damage occurred during construction work on the corner of Eastlake Parade and Eyre Street, earlier this morning.

ACTEW s Field Response teams have already attended the burst and fixed the damaged pipe. The incident and associated repair however have disturbed the flow of the network and therefore disturbed the natural sediment within the pipes leading to slight discolouration of the water supply.

Chris Webb, ACTEW Water s Group Manager for Customer Service said:

ACTEW engineers were quickly on site to complete the repair this morning following reports of external contractor damage in Kingston. The burst and repair have disturbed the natural sediment in the pipes leading to slight discolouration of the water supply. Our engineers are working to flush the mains through and restore supplies to normal. We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause.

Customers are advised not to use washing machines or dishwashers during this time, until their domestic water supply is running clear.
