Australia : DOWNER EDI wins A$2B deal from ADANI MINING in AUSTRALIA.
Australian engineering firm Downer EDI has won deals worth A$2bn ($1.6bn) from Adani Mining to offer mining services and building of mine infrastructure at the Carmichael Coal Mine in Central Queensland.
The five-year mining services deals with two further one-year options would have a combined value of over seven years.
The deal will see Downer looking after statutory management and mine operations, drilling and blasting, as well as the load and haul of waste and coal.
The engineering firm will also implement the the engineering, procurement and construction of on-site infrastructure and preparatory civil works at the thermal coal mine sited in the Galilee Basin.
Adani Mining will offer the capital for the major fleet for the mining services deal.
