Australia : Allens promotes seven new partners.
The appointments, in the Energy, Resources & Infrastructure, Banking & Finance, Corporate and Litigation practice groups, reflect the firm's focus on investing in, and bringing through, talent in key practice areas.
The new partners are located in the firm's Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney offices. They follow the recent appointment of partners Tracey Greenaway in Perth and Kate Axup in Beijing.
'The promotion to partnership is recognition of this group's legal expertise and their deep engagement with the firm's clients throughout the region,' said Allens Chairman, Ian Wallace.
'This group of new partners is outstanding and we are confident they will play a crucial role in the firm's future.'
Mr Wallace said the appointment of two Brisbane partners, Michael Morris and Alister Fitzgerald, reflected both the growth of that practice and the firm's commitment to servicing its clients in the region.
'You're seeing us growing that practice, and our practice in Melbourne, where we've appointed Geoff Sanders, Michael Ryan and Rachel Nicolson to the partnership,' Mr Wallace said.
'Plus we're bringing through a new generation of Perth talent with the appointment of Mark McAleer, who's already established himself as one of Australia's emerging experts on large-scale energy and resources projects and transactions, and Sydney-based Chris Prestwich, who specialises in commercial litigation and corporate insolvency and restructuring.'
The seven new partners are:
Alister Fitzgerald Brisbane Real Estate,
Mark McAleer Perth Energy, Resources & Infrastructure,
Michael Morris Brisbane Telecommunications, Media & Technology,
Rachel Nicolson Melbourne Litigation,
Chris Prestwich Sydney Litigation,
Michael Ryan Melbourne Banking & Finance,
Geoff Sanders Melbourne Corporate.
