Australia,Indonesia : Cardno helped to improve the quality of madrasah education in Indonesia.

Cardno, through the Australian Government-funded Australias Education Partnership with Indonesia (AEPI) School Systems and Quality (SSQ) program, together with the Government of Indonesia, implemented the Madrasah Accreditation Program which targets 1,500 private madrasah across Indonesia.

The Accreditation Program aimed to fulfil the eight national education standards, as well as build the basis for increased public trust towards an Islamic education that is more credible and competitive. The Program included training and mentoring to targeted madrasahs for 18 months as well as provided small grants of up to AU$10,000.

Due to its poor school infrastructure and below standard education quality, Madrasah MTS Badan Amal Ujungloe in Bulukumba, Sulawesi Selatan, was selected to take part in the Accreditation Program. By improving the quality of school infrastructure and capacity building of teachers, along with community support and involvement, Madrasah Badan Amal has been completely transformed to become a school which inspires students to learn.
