Audiovox's Portable DVD Line Largest Ever.

LAS VEGAS, and HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER, 2006 CES, Audiovox Booth 11006-10506 -- Audiovox Corporation today announced that in response to the tremendous success of it's 2005 line up, the company has decided to expand the 2006 portable DVD line to include eleven models with screen sizes ranging from 4.2 to 10.2-inches and features that include built-in batteries, wireless remote controls, IR wireless headphone transmitters and built-in game ports.

"Portable DVD is no longer just disc playback," said Tom Malone, Senior VP Sales. "and as manufacturers continue to add new features there is no end to the growth in this category. Our bigger screen players are DVD/CD/MP3/CDR/CDRW and Picture CD-compatible and all models come with complete cabling and cigarette lighter adapters for vehicle use."

Topping out the line is the D2011, which has won a Consumer Digest Best Buy Award. It features a 10.2-inch screen, built-in stereo speakers, and a car headrest mounting bag/carrying case. Plays DVD, CD, MP3, CDR, CDRW and picture CD. Wireless credit card size remote and complete cabling with care adapter included. MSRP: $229.

The company is introducing new package systems, D1708PK ($220), D1708ES ($329), D1726ES ($229), D1812PK ($289), D1812PKG ($299), and D1915PK ($219). The ES models feature additional screens, PK models have carry cases and headrest mounting bags and the PKG model features a game controller. All models have built-in stereo speakers, cigarette lighter adapters rechargeable batteries, and credit card-size wireless remotes. Some models have folding headphones, optional-cable-ready TV modules, external joystick, one with 30-game controller (D1812PKG). The models are DVD, CD, MP3, CDRW and CD picture-compatible. Note: All prices are MSRP.

The new D1420HP is an updated version of the wildly successful D1420 that the Company introduced last year. The HP version will include headphones for this hot little unit with no sharp edges! The round hand-held player looks great and performs even better. The 4.2-inch screen portable DVD comes with built-in battery and stereo speakers as well as a full-function wireless remote control and cigarette lighter adapter and carries a MSRP of $129.
