Audio Video Systems Announces Strategic Reorganization and Executive Level Promotions.
CHANTILLY, Va. -- Audio Video Systems, Inc. (AVS), a fast growing audiovisual (AV) design, engineering and systems integration firm, has announced a strategic reorganization of its corporate structure and leadership in an effort to create a strong platform for future growth, reflect better job functions throughout the company and focus on industry-leading customer service. AVS' various departments will be realigned into three business units: Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Support.
The reorganization creates two new executive level positions that will be filled from within the company. These include:
* Michele Ferreira, presently Director of Business Development, has been appointed Vice President of Sales & Marketing, and will oversee the Sales, Marketing, Program and Business Development, and Vendor Relations Departments.
* Barry Goldin, presently Director of Integration, has been appointed Vice President of Operations and will oversee the Engineering, Integration, Project Management and Service Departments.
Both Ms. Ferreira and Mr. Goldin will report to Matt Komos, chief operating officer at AVS, who will also directly oversee all the support departments of the organization.
"The changes we have announced will ensure a sharper focus on customer needs, provide efficient and effective results across the company, and create a more robust approach to business development," says Komos. "We are streamlining our business to be able to provide even greater focus on our customers. The reorganization of our executive team is a major step for the company that will better reflect the role of our key people in meeting the needs of our customers."
Known as one of the best places to work and fastest growing companies in the Washington, D.C. region, AVS strives to become a leading company nationally and projects that it will double its current revenue within the next three years.
"AVS prides itself on helping to transform the way governments and commercial customers do business by providing the best and most appropriate communications and information technology solutions to meet their functional, budgetary and implementation requirements," says Peter Barthelson, president and founder of AVS. "Using the latest technological innovations, we affect thousands of people every day, providing a positive impact on national security, corporate, health care and education systems worldwide."
AVS attributes its recent growth to contracts in new markets including in the health care and corporate fields, plus agency-wide classroom renovations and facility upgrades for various government agencies. AVS has experienced continued growth over the last few years, including tripling its revenue since 2003. One of the keys to its growth has been AVS's partnership with the Pentagon Renovation (PENREN) program, where AVS has been responsible for design and integration of A/V systems for many of the Pentagon's briefing and command and control facilities.
Despite the current recession, AVS has seen a boom in their workload and revenue, with 2008 being the biggest year in the company's history, and 2009 projected to be even higher. The company has continued to increase their staff in anticipation of upcoming projects that will keep the company on its continued growth path. In 2010, AVS will be moving into its new corporate headquarters, in Chantilly, Virginia. The 72,000 square foot building, Barthelson Plaza, will be a LEED certified Green Building and will use the latest technologies available to minimize environmental impact and increase energy conservation.
Established in 1992, AVS is a privately owned certified small business headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, dedicated to serving federal, state and local government agencies, higher education institutions and commercial enterprises worldwide. AVS' core competency and major focus lies in designing, installing and maintaining integrated audio, video and control facilities for a wide variety of environments including classrooms, command centers, conference rooms, training facilities, auditoriums and more.
AVS received the "Best Government AV Project (Federal)" award in both 2008 and 2009 as part of PRO AV Magazine's Spotlight Awards program, which recognizes the best professional audio/video installations designed for corporate, educational, and other non-residential applications. The awards were given for the U.S. Marine Corps Command Operations Center in Hawaii (2008) and the Pentagon Press Briefing Room in Arlington, VA (2009). Additionally, AVS has been ranked in the top ten, for the last four years, by the Washington Business Journal's "Book of Lists" for Small Technology Companies for the Washington, D.C. region. Most recently, for the 2009 list, AVS was ranked second.
