Audi AG, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), has launched its fourth-generation A8 with a new design language.

The model features revised styling, guided by Audi design head, March Lichte. It has Audi AI Traffic Jam Pilot for autonomous management of, braking and throttle at speeds up to 37 mph on divided highways. The vehicle integrates the suite of radar, ultrasonic sensors and cameras. It will be available with two V6 turbo engines, a 340bhp petrol engine and a 286bhp diesel engine, and eventually a 6.0-litre W12 engine. The long-wheelbase model will receive a plug-in hybrid drivetrain with 30-miles of electric range a little later in the production run.

The automaker expects to ship the first units in Germany by late autumn, priced from EUR90,600.
