Auction supports hunting's future.

Over the years, manufacturers and sportsmen have helped raise more than half a million dollars for the future of hunting in America through the SHOT Show's annual auctions. This year, two companies are offering special-edition firearms during the auction: a Colt 1911 and two Browning firarms.

The specially engraved Colt 1911 celebrates the 100th anniversary of the acclaimed sidearm. It boasts unique engraving, ivory grips and, on its left side, the inlaid gold inscription: "100 YEARS AT AMERICA'S SIDE," and a gold-inlaid Rampant Colt. The right side features gold inlaid "1911-2011," the serpentine Colt and the serial number "1911COLT2011."

As a bonus, the high bidder for the Colt 1911 will be invited to visit the Colt Factory in Hartford, Conn., for a private tour of the factory, lunch with Colt management and other VIP treatment.

During the SHOT Show, the gun will be displayed in the Colt booth, #12562, in a custom-made case by Brookfield Case, which will become the property of the high bidder.

Browning 1911-22 & "Secret" Gun

The auction's one-of-a-kind Browning firearms include one model that will not be revealed until the opening of the SHOT Show.

One of the unique pair of guns is a special edition of the newly introduced Browning Model 1911-22, with custom engraving commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 1911 design and featuring Serial Number "1911." The Browning Model 1911-22 is a newly designed and scaled-down version of the original John Browning-designed .45 caliber 1911. It features a machined aluminum slide and frame, with a high-gloss blue finish and checkered double-diamond walnut grips. It has a 4 1/4" barrel and weighs 15 1/2 oz.

The left side of the pistol features scroll engraving with a gold banner proclaiming John M. Browning, Master Inventor, and a gold Browning Buck Mark. The right side features scroll engraving, with a gold banner celebrating the design of John Browning and his initials in gold. The top of the slide features a gold John M. Browning signature.

The 1911-22 pistol will be presented in a special velvet-lined walnut case with a printed glass lid.

The second Browning SHOT Show auction firearm will be revealed at the opening of the SHOT Show and on on Jan. 18.

The featured Brownings are made in the USA and come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Browning. They will be displayed during the show in the Browning booth, #15540.
