Atlas Copco (STO:ATCOA) (STO:ATCOB) said today that it has received an order to deliver Pit Viper 351 blasthole drilling rigs to Kumba Iron Ore, a unit of Anglo American.

The order, which is valued at around SEK250m, is reportedly one of the company's largest orders ever in South Africa. The order was received during the first quarter.

The company said that the equipment will be supplied to the Sishen Mine in Kathu, northwest South Africa. The units are scheduled to be delivered from July 2012 and the last unit should be introduced into productivity in March 2013.

Atlas Copco is an industrial group specialising in compressors, expanders and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems.
