Atlanta's Patrick Receives NAA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Retired Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA) Association Executive Buddy Patrick received one of NAA's highest honors, the NAA Lifetime Achievement Award, on Nov. 9 during the Assembly of Delegates Meeting in Fort Worth, Texas.
The NAA Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes recipients for their long-term history of exemplary national service and accomplishments to the NAA and the rental housing industry. Patrick did just that, having served as the Association Executive for AAA for more than 25 years taking an organization that lacked direction and confidence to a nationally-respected affiliate that produces local and national leaders.
"Buddy has been a shining example for our industry," said NAA President and CEO Robert Pinnegar, CAE. "He built Atlanta into a strong affiliate that not only protects the industry through its lobbying efforts, but gives back to its community. He represents everything we look for in an NAA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. We're very fortunate to have such a dedicated individual as a supporter of AAA, NAA and the industry."
Patrick was an early advocate of giving back and championed AAA's involvement with the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). He and ACFB Founder Bill Boiling worked closely together, and now the AAA Food-a-than Drive for the Food Bank is the largest in the world.
Patrick managed the association with integrity and consensus and developed a strong lobbying and legislative team because he recognized the need to protect the industry. He worked closely with each of his presidents and always had their backs.
