Athletics: Sport SHORTS - Pavey boost.

ATHLETICS: Commonwealth Games 5,000m silver medallist Jo Pavey has been told she should emerge as a stronger track athlete from her experience of road-running. Pavey competes over 10 miles in tomorrow's BUPA Great South Run, with Irish athlete Mark Carroll, a former European indoor champion at 3,000m, switched disciplines four years ago and finished sixth in the 2002 New York Marathon. He has flown in from the United States for Sunday's race, and said of Pavey: "Mark my words, just as others before her have found out, all the extra mileage will make her stronger and a much faster track runner."
