Athletics: Baulch lands captain's job.

JAMIE BAULCH will be Britain's team captain in the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon next month - even though he misses the chance to defend his 400m crown.

He and Colin Jackson were the only two British winners from the championships in Maebashi two years ago.

But Jackson, the 60m hurdles champion, is injured while the selectors have preferred Mark Hylton for the 400m after he ran a faster time than Baulch.

But Baulch will run in the 4x400m relay as Britain attempt to break the world record set by the Unites States in Maebashi of 3mins 2.83secs.
