BEVERLY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 2004
The Trivial Pursuit(R) Unhinged(TM) Game Transforms a Classic Board
Game with New Online Gameplay, Celebrity Hosts and Multimedia Clips
Atari today shipped the Trivial Pursuit(R) Unhinged(TM) videogame, based on the most popular trivia game in the world, for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox(R) video game system from Microsoft to videogame retailers nationwide. The famous trivia game comes to life on console with innovative online play, multimedia clips and entertaining question topics that are presented by six celebrity hosts from both television and movies.
"The Trivial Pursuit(R) Unhinged(TM) game offers gamers and board game fans alike the opportunity to challenge themselves and other trivia buffs online in a battle of wits," said Nancy MacIntyre, vice president of marketing for Atari. "The Trivial Pursuit(R) Unhinged(TM) game stays true to the spirit and essence of the classic board game while fully embracing the pace of console gaming. Now players can win if they know their opponent's strengths and weakness and not just the annual rainfall of Brazil."
The Trivial Pursuit(R) Unhinged(TM) game features sports personality Terry Bradshaw, along with television personality Brooke Burke, comedians John Cleese, Whoopi Goldberg and John Ratzenberger, plus Bill Nye "The Science Guy," as celebrity hosts.
The Trivial Pursuit(R) Unhinged(TM) game delivers incredible new game features that turn a familiar classic into an amazing new experience where a crafty move might outdo a correct answer. The game includes three modes - Classic, Flash and Unhinged, which features bonus points and special board moves. In Unhinged mode, players can now steal wedges, bet as to whether other players will answer correctly, earn and spend bonus points, as well as a plethora of additional special moves and squares. In this battle of the wits, being smart helps, but being crafty wins.
Developed by Artech Studios, the Trivial Pursuit(R) Unhinged(TM) game will be available for a suggested retail price of $29.95 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
