Atambayev says ready to take responsibility for any violation of laws of Kyrgyzstan if ever committed.
There are no untouchables in Kyrgyzstan in contrast to many other countries in the region, said President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.
"We have no untouchables. No matter what position a person occupies, no matter who his relatives are, everyone pays for their crimes. I want to repeat that I am ready to take responsibility if I ever committed any violation of laws of Kyrgyzstan. I will live in Kyrgyzstan, I am a law-abiding citizen," he said.
"You all remember well that collapse was forecast for Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, the presidents of Russia and other countries told me how the collapse of Kyrgyzstan was discussed, who would take what region... But you withstood everything and even the last financial crisis, which struck other countries harder despite oil, gas and a lot more. We could keep our currency stable. It devalued much less than currencies of neighboring states, and we could avoid sharp decrease in GDP," Atambayev said.
