STEVE Taylor is thinking of selling his 1979 MG Midget 1500. It is one of the last 500 built, in good condition with full history, and has only covered 776 miles. Steve wants to know whether he's right to consider selling in the present climate, where to advertise and for how much. The MG Owners Club have suggested a figure of pounds 7,995.

QUENTIN SAYS: I don't normally overvalue cars, but this is a prince among Midgets, and must be the lowest mileage example in the world. If you were to advertise it at pounds 7,995, I think people would camp outside your house. I'd seriously think about putting it in one of the top auctions like Bonhams or Coys. I wouldn't be surprised to see the hammer fall at ten big ones. You are a very lucky man...
