At Ems-Chemie AG.
At Ems-Chemie AG, Domat/Ems, Switzerland, a new spinning process
allows the company to produce bicomponent fusible fibers. The
"BA140" is a new core/sheath bicomponent fiber based on PA
6/CoPA with a sheath melting range from 135-145[degrees]C. The fiber
guarantees an even distribution of the adhesive in the web or yarn. It
is preferably used for thermal bonding and thermal fusing nonwovens,
felts and spun yarns. The new fiber is available in 2.2 dtex/4.3 mm or
vario 2, 3.3 dtex vario 2, 17, 24 and 30 dtex/80 mm.
