Asus ZenFone 5 Leaked Ahead Of MWC 2018.
Both the Asus ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5 Lite have leaked online. The upcoming new Asus Android phones are expected to be announced in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 alongside the ZenFone 5 Max.
The upcoming Asus ZenFone 5 phones were leaked by Evan Blass ((https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/962362727657345025) @evleaks ) and Roland Quandt ((https://twitter.com/rquandt/status/962322582602121217) @rquandt ). Both of the new models are sporting full HD+ resolution displays with minimal bezels and dual rear-facing cameras. Although the handsets share a lot of the same specs, the two have their own distinct qualities.
The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite comes with an 18:9 display that's somewhere between 5.5 inches and 6.0 inches. The dual back cameras both have 16-megapixel sensors. The rear cameras are vertically aligned on the back with the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner right beneath them. Up front, the device has dual front-facing cameras with 20 megapixel sensors. Blass also shared images of the phone in three of its color options: midnight black, moonlight white and rouge red.
The "Lite" model is expected to be the midrange Android phone. As pointed out by (https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2018/2/12/17005186/asus-zenfone-5-lite-rumor-dual-selfie-quad-camera-android) The Verge , a lot of other manufacturers are bringing dual front-facing cameras, like Samsung, Oppo, Huawei and Vivo, to their new releases. What's uncertain at this point is whether Asus will use the dual front-facing cameras to make bokeh selfies a possibility.
The regular ZenFone 5 is taking a page from Apple's iPhone X in terms of design. The leaked sketches provided by Quandt on (http://winfuture.de/news,101884.html) WinFuture.de show that the device will feature an iPhone X-like display notch on top. Like on the iPhone X, the notch on the ZenFone 5 will house a speaker and a single front-facing camera. Even with the notch, the display will still have a 18:9 aspect ratio with a full HD+ resolution.
Like the "Lite" model, the regular ZenFone 5 will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Following the iPhone X design once again, it appears as though the ZenFone 5 will have vertically aligned dual cameras on the upper left side corner of the device's back. Other specs for the ZenFone 5 include a USB Type-C port, dual-SIM card support and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, no information was given on the processor, storage and RAM for either of the new Asus devices.
The leaked Asus Android phones are expected to be announced later this month during MWC 2018. The rumored ZenFone 5 Max is also expected to make an appearance during the event. Not much is known about the "Max" model, but it will be the direct successor to the ZenFone 4 Max from last year.
