Astera Credit Union.

Astera Credit Union, Lansing, Mich. celebrated its name change with its members by offering a drawing for $500 to go to a member's rent or mortgage payment. In April, the former Auto Body Credit Union became Astera Credit Union. The winner of the drawing was Rob Lutzick. Astera Credit Union was founded by John Tome, an employee at Lansing's Fisher Body Plant, over 62 years ago. Tome contacted president of UAW Local 602, Tom Eno, to express his dismay over the lack of a credit union workers could join. With the help of Archie Perry, Bill Ingram, Steve Gmazel and others, they proceeded with chartering a credit union.
