Assault victim 'in fear'.

Byline: By PADDY CLANCY

THE victim of a mindless knuckleduster attack has told how he lives in fear following the assault.

Non-drinker Aodh Curristan, 48, of Drumcliffe, Donegal, was set upon as he was going for a social evening with friends.

Donegal Circuit Court heard how he was struck on the jaw with a knuckleduster, kicked on the ground and had to undergo six months' counselling.

Mr Curristan, who lives alone, told Judge John O'Hagan: "Since then I've been very nervous of being accosted on the street. I'm very nervous at home."

Sean O'Donnell, 19, and 21-year-old Conor McHugh admitted assault causing harm on September 1, 2006. O'Donnell was jailed for 18 months and McHugh for a year.
