Assault pair on run in Ireland.

An arrest warrant was issued yesterday for a father and his 17-year-old son who are believed to have fled to Ireland after being convicted of a savage attack on a man outside a pub Stephen Hogan (54) and his son, also Stephen, both of Foster Place, Stourbridge, West Midlands, were convicted at Wolverhampton Crown Court last month and remanded on bail for sentence yesterday before Judge Michael Dudley at Stafford Crown Court. But they failed to turn up to court.

Judge Dudley said: 'A warrant not backed for bail will be issued for their arrest. There is a strong suspicion that they have left returned to Ireland.'

The pair were convicted in September of wounding Richard Smith with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and violent disorder outside the Cottage Spring Pub, in Wollaston.
